Contemplation - A New Web Set by Lady Red

Hello, folks! Well, here it is, the first web set I have done in a coon's age. It's called 'Contemplation'. I got a tutorial from one of my tube groups and decided to try it. This was the result of that. The tutorial is from Designs by Davia at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Designs_by_Daiva/. I enjoyed doing the tute and plan on trying more from her. Might result in more web sets, who knows.

The preview and link to the zip at 4shared are below. If you decide to use the set, please take note of my TOS. I absolutely require a link and the url of the page you use it on so I can add it to my portfolio. The other terms are standard and can be found in the sidebar.

Summer Sherbert by Lady Red

Summer seems to be inspiring me to chilly treats! First it was watermelon, and now it's sherbert. This is my newest alpha, Summer Sherbert. I'm on a roll! Hopefully, it will tickle someone's fancy. Preview is below, as well as the link to the zip on 4Shared. Enjoy!

New Alpha - Watermelon Summer

Greetings, fellow scrappers and welcome to Blue Nile Scrap Designs! As you can see it has been a bit since I have done any new scraps... I've been busy trying to see if I could recover the scraps I lost in my recent computer crash. In the meantime I have decided to combine my Alphas by Lady Red and Lady Red Designs sites with BNSD... two websites are easier to maintain than four, you see, so all I'll have will be this site and my personal web site, Penney's Place, which I will be moving to blogger as well. That way. I can keep everything updated on a day to day basis... right now my old Penney's Place at Host Ultra hasn't been updated since winter of 2010! Hopefully combining everything into just two sites will enable me to keep everything current which is something I haven't been doing.

So to celebrate the merger, I am sharing my latest alpha, Watermelon Summer, with everyone here. The prieview is below, as is the 4 Shared link to download it. As always, please follow my TOU, which is pretty lenient. All I ask is a link back to this site so others can come and look over my offerings to see if anything tickles their fancy.

The font I used for the alpha has no lower case letters, so the fill pattern is included in the zip in the event that some creative soul would like to make some lower case letters of their own.

My Recent Disaster

As those who have visited me recently will know, I had adopted a policy of not putting links to the zip files of my scraps on the blog because I had seen my scraps shared in groups and on other web sites, which I didn't want to happen. My scraps are free for anyone to use in almost any manner, with the exception of someone claiming them as their own, but I wanted scrappers to visit my blog to get the scraps. That action has come back to bite me in the butt... I recently had my netbook crash, and as a result, I lost almost all of my scraps. Only two of them survived the disaster. So, I am going to be reloading those two -- 'Love Is in the Air' and 'Thanksgiving at Blue Nile' - and providing links to them from my 4Shared account so they can be downloaded by those scrappers who want them. From now on, I will do that with all of my scraps and hope that those who use them will abide by my TOU. I will also be creating some new scraps to share. I hope everyone will bear with me while I get things back up and running.

New Scrap Watermelon Summer

Hey, I'm on a roll! Two scrap kits in the same month! Just finished the new one, Watermelon Summer, last night.... or should I say this morning, because it was four a.m. when I finished it!

Why Watermelon Summer? When I was a kid, back in the early 30's, as a friend of mine used to say, my great grandparents had a farm in Cass County, Texas, and one of my favorite pastimes was going out to the farm for the weekend. There was a pot load of cousins who would come, too, because Sunday dinner at Grandmother's was a not-to-be-missed occasion. We would help Grandmother with some of the chores, like milking the cow, gathering eggs, and feeding the chickens. But one of our favorite things was when we could sneak off into the watermelon patch and eat the watermelons, sitting out in the middle of the rows. They were better tasting than any watermelon I've eaten since. Even Granddaddy finding us eating the melons and threatening to take a switch us all couldn't change the enjoyment of eating them.

Anyway, the prieview is below. Anyone who would like to have the kit can email me and I;ll be happy to send it off.

New Scrap: Ice Cream Shop

Yesterday, I had an 'Aha!' moment when I finally discovered the wonders of the autocrop tool on my PSP. It was an ephiphany because it made me start looking at all my scraps and discovering that I had been leaving a lot of blank space around them, thus making my kits bigger in size. Then, I started checking out the kits I had snagged from other people and discovered that I wasn't the only one who was adding nothing (as in blank space around the graphics)... a lot of other scrappers were doing it, too.

Now, I'm not the blank space police, but I have seen kits by scrappers who apparently love kits with hundreds of pieces, (and there's nothing wrong with that) but the kits wind up being divided amongst five files, even on Megaupload. I have to pass so many of them up because I only have my little netbook with its teeny tiny memory, and I got no place to put them! I've already filled up two 8 gig flash drives with stuff and just started on a 4 gig. So, it would be most thoughtful if my fellow scrappers could start cropping the blank spaces of their graphics, not only for my sake and that of other scrap lovers, but it would probably take a load off of their own memories!

Okay, enough soap-boxing for the nonce. I have been dreaming of ice cream lately, and so I cobbled up this little kit for those who share that obsession. Of, course, these days, I have to resort to the low sugar alternatives bt they still taste yummy! Anyone who would like to have the kit can email me at penneyn@gmail.com and I'll be happy to send it off!
